An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Future4Me team in Lincolnshire as a Youth Worker, working with young people who may need support in making a positive transition to adulthood.  The team have four permanent part time Youth and Community Development Worker posts three in Boston and South Holland and one in Lincoln and West Lindsey. There is also one post which is a fixed term one year contract.

About You:

Are you able to build relationships quickly and effectively with young people? Do you have a calming influence and able to reassure and support young people?  Are you confident working with young people aged 8 to 18 years? Do you have an understanding of the current societal trends and challenges that impact young people?  Do you want a role where you can shape and assist with service development?

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to work with individuals and groups to help them to identify their own needs and plan a positive way forward.   You will be able to communicate, inspire and work restoratively with a range of people. You will be able to work on your own and as part of a team collaborating seamlessly with other project strands in the programme. Ensuring the timely and accurate completion of routine tasks, documents and reports in meeting service goals is also key to the success of the role.

About the role:

The post holder will be required to work with young people who may be vulnerable and may require help and support to prevent their difficulties from escalating.  Your role will assist in the delivery of interventions & programmes using recreational activities and resources to support the youth engagement process. You will work as part of a team to provide young people with trusted adult role models to support positive choices and decision making as part of our Community & Intervention offer.

There is a need to be flexible within your working approach. The role will involve a range of duties including working regular evenings and weekends and can be building based or detached/outreach. The post is peripatetic and can be deployed to locations across the locality where there is an identified need.
