A new and exciting opportunity to join the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) team at Lincolnshire County Council supporting the UK Food Valley (UKFV) programme. Working across the LEP and LCC internally to develop relationships and deliver actions from the UKFV business plan including reporting, information, projects and communication. Leading on the UK Food Valley Skills Investment Programme, and supporting the Programme Manager with partnership reporting, engagement and communications.

About the Role

This is a new and exciting opportunity to join the LEP Team, managing a new skills capital programme aimed at increasing or improving the offering of agri-food related education by developing the infrastructure and technology within Greater Lincolnshire, to support the workforce of our thriving agri-food sector. The role will also support other UKFV activity in line with the business plan.

Reporting to the UK Food Valley Programme Manager, you will be responsible for a personal profile of projects working across a number of departments and undertake a range of tasks that contribute to the outcomes of the Greater Lincolnshire UK Food Valley business plan. Travel around Greater Lincolnshire and Rutland will be expected as part of the job, as such access to your own transport is essential. 

The position is a 1 year fixed term post starting in June 2024 with the possibility of the role being extended. Recruitment is both for internal secondment and external candidates. Internal candidates should notify their manager if applying for secondment opportunities. Managers may provide support and discuss arrangements concerning this.

The team are friendly and supportive, busy, matching the fast-paced nature of some of the work required, but that also means that we work flexibly. About You

We are looking for an experienced project manager who has understanding of contract management and (ideally) the food and agri-food sector. You should be able to manage a broad portfolio of projects, ensuring their delivery in a timely manner, with clear and articulate commination skills. The ideal candidate will have drive, enthusiasm, flexibility and commitment.

The ideal candidate will need to;

  • Be up to date with current government policy impacting on employment and skills and the food sector
  • Be able to demonstrate understanding of public sector funding principles and practices such as approvals, procurement and grant funding
  • Have prior experience of skills capital programmes (desirable)
  • Be a confident contract manager, with proven project management skills
