Teaching Assistant 1:1
Walcott Primary School, Pinfold Lane, Walcott, Lincoln LN43SX
25 hour per week (5 hours daily) 8.45 am - 2.45 pm
An exciting opportunity for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant has arisen at Walcott Primary School to support a child with an EHCP. We are looking for a caring individual who has previous experience of working with children, especially those on the autistic spectrum.
The suitable candidate will be responsible for working alongside the class teacher to adapt work and provide tailored support across the curriculum. The job will be primarily to support the child’s academic needs but also includes intimate care associated with toileting. They will need to build a good professional relationship with the child’s parents and outside agencies.
We are looking for someone who can work effectively as part of a team, has a warm positive outlook and is committed to helping children achieve their best. This post will remain whilst the child has an EHCP or is at the school.
Walcott is a small rural school with good facilities; it is part of the Carrdyke Federation along with Mrs Mary King’s Primary School at the nearby village of Martin. Staff from both sites work closely together and are supported by an experienced SENDCO. The successful candidate will be well supported within a class team of three other adults. We can offer high quality training to support the child’s acquisition of phonics via an English Hub grant.
We welcome visits, these can be arranged to meet the current restrictions.
