An opening is available for a Senior Finance Technician in the Schools Finance Team.  This is a full time, permanent position working 37 hours a week.  Based in Lincoln and offering a salary of £25,295 - £27,905.

About the role:

You will primarily be responsible for providing advice, help and support to individual schools, including Head Teachers on a range of financial matters including budget setting, budget monitoring, closure of accounts and year end support, compliance with financial policy and statutory returns.

You will lead on the management of LCC's sickness absence insurance scheme for schools and deliver financial training to schools.

Also, as a member of the wider Financial Strategy team you may also be required to provide support for the specialist areas of treasury management, VAT, and the use of the Council's general ledger (Business World).

You will have line management for one member of staff and have oversight of the Schools Finance Team Helpdesk.

About you:

Are you a qualified member of the Association of Accounting Technicians (or equivalent)?

We are looking for someone who possesses good communication skills and is confident in supporting people at all levels of a large organisation. You will be competent in the use of excel and other IT applications and have a good knowledge of accounting principles and practice.
