Lincolnshire County Council has a culture and track record of efficient and effective financial management with the Council continuing to report a healthy financial position delivering services within our financial envelope.  Become a key member of our team, delivering for Lincolnshire and support the Council to continue to take the necessary decisions to promote financial sustainability for Lincolnshire services.

You will be joining our team as we roll out our new workforce strategy, a strategy which puts you at the heart of our service.  We are creating a learning environment which encourages continuous personal and professional development.  This will ensure we have the right people with the right skills to support the Council to move forward in the challenging financial climate.

The Role

We are looking for an effective Senior Finance Business Partner, internally we refer to them as Finance Managers, to support our Place and Fire Finance Team.

Working with colleagues, you will draw on your technical expertise and experience to constructively challenge financial performance, influencing decision making and contributing to the delivery of efficient, effective services within the financial resource available.  You will be empowered to influence strategy, collaborate on policy goals, offer expert analysis and interpretation, presenting options to resolve problems and exploit opportunities.  This will enable the Council to continue to make the best use of resources resulting in the delivery of the best outcomes for the people and place of Lincolnshire.

You will be responsible for the operational management of your team, motivating people and promoting continuous personal and professional development ensuring sufficient skills and experience to ensure delivery is aligned with the Councils strategy.

About you

To succeed in this role, you will have a blend of technical and people skills and a passion for continued professional development.  You see the value in the business intelligence you provide and inspire others to make use of it. Your ability to listen, interpret, influence, and challenge respectfully means that colleagues see you as trusted partner and involve you in supporting them to drive their services forward.

You will have the opportunity to contribute to a team which has a broad remit and seeks to increase the impact of its work. You will share our values – collaborative, adaptable, responsible, eco-conscious, supportive – and directly contribute to the continuous development of Lincolnshire County Council’s ‘working for a better future’ vision.

You will be able to think innovatively and show enthusiasm for contributing to new ways of working. You will also have the skill and flexibility to operate at a fast pace and overcome challenges readily, positively and collaboratively. It is vital that you embrace change and can see the benefits of doing things differently to improve outcomes.
