SENCO Assistant to Senior SENDCO Grade 6 (£22,911 - £25,295 FTE).

Permanent 30 hours per week, Monday – Friday 9-3:30pm.

Required from October 2019.

Based at Harlaxton CE School NG32 1HT.

A rare and exciting opportunity to join our SEN team across the Denton and Harlaxton Federation. The Federation is committed to improving academic outcomes for all children including those in vulnerable groups. We are currently growing our team and are seeking candidates with the appropriate attributes and skills to support us in our shared goal of providing an outstanding service to all children falling into vulnerable groupings.

We are looking for someone with experience and knowledge of:

  • SEND, policies and procedures including EHCP
  • Dealing with health professionals and writing paediatric referrals
  • Professional attitudes when working with parents some of whom may be in vulnerable circumstances
  • Creating EHAs and running TACs


The successful candidate will have a track record in improving educational outcomes and supporting children and young people to overcome barriers to learning and fulfil their potential.

You will be confident and hold the highest of expectations demonstrated through challenging and advocating for the best learning opportunities for our children and young people.

You will be skilled in providing advice and support to school staff including teachers, TAs and parents. Your caseload will cover children attending Harlaxton CE School and also children in Denton CE School. Consequently, you will be both flexible and organised in supporting our children regardless of where they are placed. 

You will also have high level IT, written and verbal communication skills and also have experience of working within the education sector.  

Our school is committed to the safeguarding of children and promoting child welfare. The appointment will be subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure and ‘Prohibition’ and ‘Disqualification’ checks . All references will be taken up before interview.
