Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

Scale: G3 £17,007 - £19,171 pro rata - 18 hrs per week (Five mornings a week with remaing 3 hours by negotiation)

We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled and highly motivated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to work with a Y5 pupil with complex needs and a specific Education, Health and Care Plan. This post is pivotal to its consistent and effective implementation.

You will be responsible for supporting learning on a day-to-day basis, implementing specific interventions, promoting social integration and supporting emotional well-being. Working as part of a team of responsible adults and reporting to parents and the child’s class teacher, under the supervision of the school’s special needs coordinator.

The confidence to work flexibly and the ability to build and sustain effective relationships with the pupil and their family, are also essential. A knowledge and experience of Special Educational needs and implementing interventions would be of an advantage in fulfilling this role and the opportunity for additional training will also be provided.

The successful candidate will work with and have very high expectations of all pupils. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to join our dedicated team of professionals, with KS2 experience being preferred.
