Relief Residential Care Officer Level 1, Boston

Boston is a busy rural town in South East Lincolnshire, sitting near the Wash and the coastal areas of Skegness and Mablethorpe.  Boston was one of the departure points for the Pilgrim Fathers; there is the historic centre and port areas as well as the 1819 - Maud Foster Windmill a 5 sail windmill, one of the largest still operating in England.

Working as a Relief Residential Care Officer you will join an established and experienced care team in the mentoring of children and young people who can display challenging behaviour. 

Our Care Officers are expected to create a safe and nurturing environment for the young people who have a range of disabilities and need your caring support and encouragement to engage in learning opportunities during their short break.

The Role

  • Is to encourage and enable children to achieve their maximum potential whilst respecting the rights of the child and enable them to assume responsibility for their actions commensurate with their age, ability and aptitude.
  • You will have the ability to engage with children and young people to enable them to develop new skills, improve their social skills and life choices.
  • Whilst modelling constructive social behaviour and setting boundaries.

This role is offered on a relief basis where you will work a shift pattern.  This involves working through the week and weekends (including sleep-ins).

The current salary for relief staff is based on £21,981 p.a. with an enhancement to offset annual leave and sickness, providing an hourly rate of £12.36.
