Positive Futures Community Sports Worker

Positive Futures Lincolnshire is seeking to employ a Community Sports Worker who will be based from our Grantham site. The role is to engage young people aged 8 to 24 years in sports, physical activity and other positive activities then using that engagement as a basis for personal development.

Positive Futures is a community sports programme that aims to help young people avoid involvement in offending behaviour, substance misuse and other risk taking behaviours through engagement in positive activities

These estate based sessions enable young people to make positive use of their leisure time. The sessions are universally available to all young people aged 8-24 years in the focus areas.

Positive Futures is an innovative community sports project that aims to help young people avoid involvement in offending behaviour and substance misuse through positive activities and creating routes back into education, volunteering and employment.

We are seeking to employ a member of staff on a permanent contract who will work from our Grantham base, helping embed the Positive Futures model into the local community.

The role is to engage young people aged 8 to 24 years in sport and physical activity and then use that shared interest to help young people develop new skills.

We are looking for a suitably qualified, enthusiastic and community minded individual to become part of the existing team in Lincolnshire.

Part of the interview process will be for the candidate to give a 10 minute presentation on  the following:

"Identify how sport can be used to tackle current issues facing 14-19 year old's in Lincolnshire"
