Maintenance Design Engineer

Lincolnshire County Council is looking to recruit a number of highly motivated individuals as Maintenance Design Engineers. Candidates will need to have the skills, experience and knowledge to deliver Highway Maintenance works and ensure the efficient use of the Lincolnshire highway network.

About the Team

Lincolnshire County Council's Local Operational Asset Management team provide a maintenance design service to one of the biggest highways networks in the country. There are four Teams covering based in offices across the County that work in partnership with our Network Management teams and external contractors within the Lincolnshire Highways Alliance. Lincolnshire County Council is recognised as a leading light in the Highways Sector, becoming one of the first 2 "Band 3" authorities in the country in the Department for Transport incentivised funding, as well as recently winning the Highways Management award at the MJ awards.

About the Roles

There are two Maintenance Design Engineer roles available in our Minor Works and Traffic Team. One of the roles team covers a multitude of highway maintenance functions that includes footway schemes and drainage schemes. The second role will focus on the assessment, design and implementation of traffic related improvements and schemes.

Based in offices shared with Alliance partners across the County, the post holder's general duties will include the coordination, communications, consultation, financial control, planning, design, construction and handover on completion of schemes.

About You

To be successful in this post you will need a good level of technical knowledge, be able to engage with the community and have the ability to inspect and place works orders to the Alliance contractors. These diverse posts have a varied workload including the coordination of works, daily communication with a variety of customers and groups in a range of methods and assisting in the development and use of suitable IT systems and processes. A full training and development package will be made available to each individual to ensure candidates are able to attain their full potential within the organisation.
