A member of the Aurum Academies Trust, Washingborough Academy is a thriving Primary Academy providing education for 270 children from 3-11 years old.

Washingborough Academy is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to support our wonderful teachers in the classroom and who will also work in our After School Club.

Hours 11.00 am — 2.30 pm supporting in class and from 3.00 pm — 6.00 pm working in our onsite After School Club.

Both roles will form part of a single contract which will be on a fixed term basis until the end of August 2021. However, it is likely to be extended to become a permanent role.

At Washingborough Academy we value the support and guidance our learning support assistants offer our children and utilize them fully in all aspects of teaching and learning; thus maximising children's opportunities. The role would be ideally suited for someone who is passionate about getting the very best out of our children and will work conscientiously, under teacher's guidance, to prepare and deliver parts of lessons to small groups of children. This could be in our Early Years setting or in the wider school.

As an After School Club Supervisor you will, with the support from the existing assistant, manage and deliver activities in our wrap around care club. The post holder will lead and be responsible for the day-to-day organisation of the After School Club, providing stimulating activities and a high standard of care for children between the ages of 3-11 years old in a safe and secure environment. This will include maintaining accurate records/systems, and will include preparing a small snack to our children.

Qualified to Level 3 in either Childcare or Play work, you must also have experience with children in an Ofsted registered environment such as after school or Nursery settings. You must be able to demonstrate an ability to relate to children and their needs and understand the supportive nature of the role. As a team player, you must be pragmatic and flexible in your approach. Communicating effectively with parents is also a key part of the role. Additional training will be provided such as Food Hygiene and Safeguarding.
