We’re looking for an enthusiastic and personable IT Business Partner to act as an ambassador to the Council’s IT department, developing excellent relationships with key stakeholders and making sure that our services meet the needs of the organisation. 

You will be pivotal in making sure our customers voice is heard within the IT department, and that they are at the heart of everything we do. 

The role

Your role will be responsible for identifying and presenting the opportunities from modern technology improvements in a language that enables the benefits to be easily understood in a language your customers can understand.  You will be the bridge between technical and non-technical colleagues, ensuring that everyone is working together to drive forward the needs of the business.

The IT Business Partner will meet regularly with stakeholders across the Council, at all levels, to understand the specific goals of the overall business and individual service areas.  As a result, you will need to be comfortable in dealing with senior professionals, particularly in circumstances where you may need to utilise your well-honed customer service skills to explain issues and assure colleagues of the work being undertaken.

You will be comfortable with explaining Service Performance and be able to align perceptions to metrics.  Acting as an escalation point for any issues, you will be able to determine the root cause and resolution for issues, making the case for change.  You will be representing your stakeholders within Change Projects and you will work with stakeholders in raising IT Projects for their Service Areas..  Leading the day to day relationship with our IT Delivery Partner(s) you will drive a positive approach to service delivery.

Having an aptitude and appreciation for the benefits of modern technology to support a diverse workforce and drive digital transformation, you will be able to spot opportunities for improvements and be able to build the business case for change.

 What do I need to have?

You will need to be able to demonstrate excellent Customer Service skills, with a career history that includes customer account management, or similar roles with extensive negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Experience in developing excellent stakeholder relationships, internally and externally will be advantageous, as will any experience in managing service delivery with internal, or contracted-for, IT services.

Our technology platform and equipment is very good enabling you to connect and collaborate remotely. We require that you have in place good connectivity and we will discuss during the recruitment process if support with this is needed.
