Infection Prevention & Control Nurse Advisor

Lincolnshire County Council, Public Health Division are currently expanding their health protection service and are actively recruiting Infection Control Nurses to join their existing team and support the response to COVID-19.

As we continue to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic alongside our remit to protect the public's health from infectious diseases and other public health hazards, we are looking for two Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) Nurse Advisors to join our team and be part of a progressive Public Health division. The posts advertised will be for a fixed term period of 12 months.

The IPC Nurse Advisors will have an integral role within the Health Protection Team and will lead the clinical response to covid-19. The post holder will work both collaboratively and autonomously, with authority, using advanced Public Health and Infection Control knowledge and skills, to help develop and deliver the health protection service across Lincolnshire. This involves acting as a catalyst for change in practice and service development, appropriately challenging boundaries to identify innovative solutions that best meet the needs of the service, stakeholders and staff.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide a robust level of support to Lincolnshire County Council's local response to COVID-19.
  • To provide day to day operational delivery, management and oversight of local health protection and specifically COVID-19 response through prevention and rapid implementation of Local Outbreak Plans.
  • Play a key role in developing, shaping and assuring the COVID-19 health protection function, which includes managing individuals and teams, working closely with partners and ensuring delivery of high-quality surveillance, response and support systems.
  • Responsibility for developing and maintaining close working relationships both internally and with partner organisations
