The Virtual School is looking to recruit two permanent Education (Progress) Co-ordinators to join our team to promote educational outcomes for our children in the care of Lincolnshire. The Virtual School supports education settings in and outside of Lincolnshire, providing professional challenge, advice and guidance on meeting the needs of our children in care and previously looked after children.

About the Role

We are looking for two Education (Progress) Co-ordinators to join our well established and experienced team. We are a busy team and the ability to work under pressure, manage conflicting priorities and remain resilient is essential. Building effective relationships with social care teams, staff in educational settings, colleagues across Children's Services and parents and carers, in what are often emotive and complex situations, is crucial to this role.

These are full time positions with an office base in Lincoln, the opportunity for hybrid working and with travel around the Lincolnshire area.

About You

Experience of working in or with education settings and with safeguarding of children and young people is essential for this role.

In addition we are looking for:

  • Skilled communicators, the role involves a lot of relationship building, influencing, negotiating and, the ability to deliver professional challenge when necessary.
  • Good time management, working to tight deadlines and responding to the needs of our children in care, education providers and professionals which will involve regular travel around the county.
  • An understanding of the unique needs of our children in care and how they can be best supported in educational settings through the development and review of high quality, effective Personal Education Plans
  • Resilience and tenacity, casework is frequently complex, emotive and challenging.
