SCHOOL BUSINESS MANAGER

To commence December 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter

We are looking to appoint an outstanding and dynamic Business Manager with enthusiasm, energy and passion to support the vision of our school.

This is a strategic position to support the future development of the school, and, as such, is an exciting opportunity for the right person to help fashion the role ensuring sound business management, human resources management and facilities management making the academy an outstanding centre of learning for children and the local community.

The successful candidate will have a strong commercial awareness (ideally from an educational setting although not essentially), and a track record of income generation and business management experience. The post-holder will work closely with the Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team, and have overall strategic responsibility for all non-teaching business management functions.

Washingborough Academy is a forward-thinking, highly inclusive Primary Academy with 290 children on roll, and hosts an on-site nursery. The school is situated 4 miles outside of Lincoln. Ofsted reports that this is a good school with many outstanding features.

We are looking to appoint a Business Manager who will:

  • Have a professional qualification or significant experience in Business Management and can demonstrate significant experience of working at a leadership level in this field
  • With the School Leadership Team play a significant role in the growth and development of the school
  • Provide HR admin for the schools non-teaching support staff
  • Provide vision, strategic direction, leadership and management of the School's business functions
  • Have an excellent understanding of the business and compliance issues and challenges facing Academies
  • Be committed, promote and support the values, vision and ethos of the school
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have a good sense of humour
