Lincs Laboratory is looking to recruit for the position of Assistant Technician/ Technician/ Senior Technician in the Engineering Consultancy Team.  As a Technician you will be part of a team of highly skilled and motivated Engineers and Technicians carrying out Pavement Design, Materials and Workmanship monitoring, Geotechnical Investigations and offering highway engineering advice to a wide range of clients across Lincolnshire.  You will be assisting to shape the quality and standards of the Highways service across the County.

About the Role and Team:

Lincs Laboratory is UKAS accredited to BS EN ISO/IEC 17025 for construction materials sampling and testing.  We also offer extensive Consultancy Services holding ISO 9001 Quality Assurance certification and ISO 45001 Health and Safety certification.

As a Technician, you will be part of the Engineering Consultancy Team consisting of up to twelve Engineers and Technicians undertaking a wide range of design and consultation projects.  You will be interacting with Clients from across the Place and other County Council Directorates to deliver Ground Investigations, Pavement Investigations and Design for Major Projects and Strategic Road Network (SRN) maintenance, monitoring quality of materials and workmanship of Section 278, Development Roads, Term Maintenance works, SRN Maintenance and Major Projects.  You will also be involved in work on a commercial basis for external clients such as Local Authorities, Designers, Materials Suppliers and Contractors locally and throughout the UK.

You will commission testing from the laboratory service to enable thorough site investigation for the design of maintenance schemes, and also for the monitoring of materials and workmanship quality of highway works.

About You:

For entry level, you will require a minimum of 3 A-Level qualifications in appropriate disciplines or equivalent, with training and experience gained in post.  For top of grade you will required either a Degree level qualification or HNC level qualification with Professional Membership at EngTech level, and relevant experience level. 

If not already achieved, you will have a desire to progress to further qualifications as appropriate and Professional registration, which can be achieved through sponsorship on the job.  These will open opportunities beyond the Career Grade post to become an Engineer in the future.

You need to be highly motivated and able to organise your workload effectively. You will be reactive to the changing needs of the clients, able to prioritise work effectively to meet targets.
