Pupil Support Assistant 1:1 (Primary)

Required to start as soon as possible, the governors, staff and pupils are looking to appoint a proactive, caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant with the expertise needed to support a pupil in KS2 with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder.  The pupil has an Education, Health and Care Plan. This is a temporary contract, depending on the needs of the child changing or the child leaving the school.

The successful candidate will be directly involved in supporting the pupil in the following areas:

•       communication and interaction

•       development of literacy and numeracy skills

•       retention and retrieval of learning

•       listening and attention control

•       independent learning skills

•       social and emotional development

It is essential that the ‘right’ person for the job has:

•       excellent interpersonal skills and can communicate effectively with children, staff and parents

•       can work successfully in a team with staff and other professionals

•       is proactive, creative, self-motivated and able to take initiative

•       is able to implement specialist learning programmes

Experience of working with children with social communication, attention and sensory processing difficulties would support you in this role.
